About DANWISE
ORGANIZATION
DANWISE is a nonprofit organization that advocates for and supports women in academia, industry, government, and non-profit organizations in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine (STEMM), Humanities, and Social Science. We develop talent and leadership skills, build professional networks, provide mentorship and create platforms for public engagement. Our initiatives aim to cultivate women leaders of the future.
We believe in the potential of every woman to embrace her identity, shape her own future, and contribute to positive change in the world.
Our Vision
DANWISE’s main vision is to develop strategies that will reduce the gender gap in STEMM, Humanities and Social Sciences and to ensure that all women in these fields can achieve their full potential. These changes will be made through initiatives and programs that aim to

(i) increase awareness of gender imbalance in STEMM areas;
(ii) develop leadership and professional skills to enable women in these fields to achieve their full potential and advance in their careers;
(iii) improve hiring of women in higher academic and industry positions;
(iv) bring forth new policies that improve gender diversity at the universities and in the industry.
Location of the Society
The Society is national, with established chapters in Copenhagen and Aarhus. However, DANWISE wishes to make its mark in other Danish cities. Therefore, if you feel that you could contribute to running local chapters elsewhere, please contact DANWISE. We would be happy to hear from you.
